2023 Photo Contest Guideline Information
The Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District (HCSWCD) is now accepting submissions for the 9th Annual Photography Contest from amateur photographers throughout Hamilton County. This year the theme supports the Hamilton County Bicentennial with the title being “A Look Into Biodiversity This Bicentennial”. We will accept photographs in both the youth and adult age categories with each photographer having the ability to submit up to 5 entries.

Biodiversity is a term which describes every living organism within a single ecosystem or habitat, including plants, bacteria, animals, fungi, and humans. We are looking to accept photos that exhibit and/ or promote the rich level of biodiversity Hamilton County has and has had over the last 200 years. Some guidelines we would like photographers to follow for submissions are below:
Photos with two or more species present
Local habitats that are protected
Healthy rivers/lakes/streams, etc.
Positive Environmental Practices such as Planting of Native or Rain Gardens or Conservation Efforts

Digital files and entry forms must be submitted by Monday, June 26th, 2023 by 10am. Remember to add a descriptive caption to each entry portraying how the photo relates to this year’s theme. A panel of judges will choose two winners in each category to be honored and receive a cash prize.  Once again, this year, People’s Choice Award winners in each of the categories will receive a $50.00 prize - voting will take place on our Facebook page. Photo entries and winners will be showcased at the Hamilton County 4-H Fair July 20th to 24th, 2023 at the HCSWCD booth.

Additional information and entry forms are located at www.hamiltonswcd.org/photo-contest.
