Why We Recommend It
Little Henry® Virginia Sweetspire is a compact native shrub that combines fragrant white flower tassels with vivid red-orange fall color. We recommend it for small shrub borders, foundation plantings, rain gardens, pond edges, and shaded slopes. The flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, while the dense growth provides low cover. It tolerates wet soil, clay, and shade, although flowering and fall color are strongest with more light. Root suckers may slowly expand the planting.
