Why We Recommend It
Mistflower is a standout late-season native for gardeners who want intense blue-purple color and heavy pollinator activity. We recommend it for rain gardens, pond edges, and moist naturalized areas where it has room to spread. Its fluffy flowers draw butterflies, bees, and other pollinators into fall, and birds use the seeds. The tradeoff is vigor: it spreads readily by rhizomes and seed, so it is best where a colony is welcome rather than in a small, tightly controlled bed.
