Urban Agriculture
Technical Assistance

Picture
The vision of the urban agriculture program at the HCSWCD is to sustain the urban agriculture movement within Hamilton County.

The technical assistance offers consulting and guidance on topics like:
  • Starting a new backyard or community garden
  • Organizational planning
  • Balancing goals and expectations
  • Site planning and analysis
  • Container gardening
  • Soil testing and analysis
  • Nutrient and soil management
  • Weed and pest management
  • Materials support
  • And more…

What does it look like?
A typical site visit includes examining the premises and the proposed garden site(s) along with questions to identify goals and objectives.

Depending on the goals and objectives, a follow up ‘Garden and Conservation Plan’ will be offered along with possible additional site visits.
